5 Days Online Retreat for Beginners
8 - 12th November 2024
Teach In English by Master Venerable Obhasa
We sincerely invite you to participate in this online five-day meditation event. This retreat will provide the master with visual teachings and individual interviews to follow up on your learning progress and lead you on the path to awakening through meditation at home.
The meditation schedule is as follows:
Time:
6:15 - 6:45 AM: Taking refuge in the Three Refuges, taking the six precepts, reading recitation of the Dhammapada Verses, five recollections together and engaging in meditation.
Morning/Afternoon:
Self-guided meditation (if possible) for a total of two to three hours, which can be divided into segments in the afternoon.
8:30 PM - 9:30 PM: One hour of teachings and group sharing, including a 10-minute Q&A session in small groups.
9:35 PM: Individual consultation on the third day with Venerable Obhasa.
This retreat will focus on the Six R's and the Brahmavihara Meditation: Loving-kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity, as the objects of meditation. It will be based on the fundamental principles of Buddhist scriptures and aim to cultivate meditative practice, leading to the experience of nirvana through the power of concentration.
The foundation of the Brahmavihara Meditation (the effective observation of the four aspects of life's existence) will be covered, including the content and meaning of the Five Aggregates.
The characteristics of the Three Dharma Seals, the truths of the Four Noble Truths, the seven factors of awakening, the Eightfold Path to purify life, and the twelve links of dependent origination in life patterns will also be explored.
We believe that this five-day meditation retreat will bring you deep inner experiences and growth. Through practicing meditation at home, you will receive guidance from the master and embark on your own path of awakening.
